Multicultural Family Support
The Culturally and Linguistically Diverse specific Family Project provides support to vulnerable disadvantaged families comprising of first time parents and families with children aged 0 – 8 from CALD backgrounds.Target group includes teenage parents, parents with a developmental disability and/or parents with other special needs who live in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie LGAs.
The Program supports families through:► Case Management► Home visits► Group activities such as arranging and organising parenting groups, supporting playgroups etc► Promotion of good parenting practices► Assisting CALD parents identify their needs, set achievable goals and work towards their fulfilment► Referring families to other service providers when needed
