Community Coordination and Development

Community coordination and development services consist of activities that foster client and community participation in the wider Australian community.Targeted support provided by Settlement Services grants assists to maximise productive diversity and social cohesion.

Activities include:► Community Capacity Building- by consulting, supporting, mentoring and advocating for the new and  emerging  communities in the Hunter, New England and the Central Coast region► Employment, Education and Training - by developing  and strengthening  linkages with mainstream providers such as TAFE NSW, job services agencies and regional Business Chambers to facilitate pathways and opportunities  in the skills development of the target group► Social Connection- to assist in developing social, sporting and recreational opportunities and promote integration and inclusion with the broader mainstream community► Life Skills development – through involvement in programs like swimming, water safety, driver education and skills that will support them in times of disaster and other emergencies► Advocacy and networking with mainstream agencies - to break down cultural stereotypes and inform service providers how best to service the NSP clients and by to building strong relationships via mechanisms such as interagency networks, consultative forums, working groups, etc. and through leadership to rural and regional Settlement funded workers in the Central West, Northern,  North Western and, Mid-North Coast regions of NSW
