The Community Builders Program
The Community Builders is a program that strengthens and builds the capacity of and opportunities for people to actively engage with the broader community through activities that help them to acquire skills and to respond to change.The program strengthens communities as an effective way of reducing inequality and disadvantage by:
► Enhancing community social infrastructure► Building more resilient communities► Promoting people’s participation and inclusion► Building trust, resourcefulness, participation, respect and connectedness.The NSS Multicultural Community Development Project is a Community Builder’s project delivered on the Central Coast. Services include:► Developing and building links between the Culturally and Linguistically Diverse community members► Developing/promoting community based workshops and Central Coast social & cultural events e.g. “Global Film night”, Multicultural Cooking Classes.In addition this project supports and promotes the activities of various CALD Communities on the Central Coast through community consultation. These include Harmony Day, Refugee Week, Multicultural Health Week, Multicultural Expo, White Ribbon Walk and the White Ribbon Day Breakfast.
